East Cobb, Georgia

East Cobbers are notoriously proud of their location and when asked where they live, they will answer "East Cobb" rather than Marietta or even Roswell. East Cobb, GA, has no zip code. Hence, everyone who lives in E. Cobb has a Marietta or Roswell address.

Where is East Cobb?

Generally, it is the area which sits east of Interstate 75, north of the Chattahoochee River and west of North Fulton County. The northern border is roughly Cherokee County or Hwy 92.

Consistently, executive families relocating to Atlanta have chosen to move to East Cobb because of the schools. The area is home to some of the highest-scoring public schools in the state, such as Dickerson Middle School and Walton High.

East Cobb is also home to Lassiter High School, nationally famous for its marching band, which is consistently ranked as one of the top marching bands in the nation!

East Cobb Real Estate is some of the most expensive in the county, with median home prices over $300K and new homes which can sell for over $1 million. This is driven by two main factors: the high-quality schools and the closer proximity to downtown Atlanta

The Chattahoochee River borders the southern end of East Cobb and offers miles of hiking trails and picnic areas through the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Million dollar mansions line the road where bikers, joggers and roller blade enthusiasts roll along Column's Drive.

Sope Creek begins in northern Cobb County and meanders through East Cobb before it ends at the Chattahoochee River. Along the way, families can play in the rapids and enjoy sites like the Old Paper Mill off Paper Mill Road.

East Cobb Park is a recent addition, paid for by local residents. Families enjoy the picnic pavilion and large fenced-in play area. There are also walking trails and a band pavilion. A beautiful creek borders one side with two restful observation platforms.

While predominantly a bedroom community of Atlanta, East Cobb is also home to several well-known national retailers. The Avenue at East Cobb is a new, outdoor mall which boasts stores such as Ann Taylor, Border's Bookstore, Williams & Sonoma, The Gap, Bath & Body Works and many others.

You can also find Home Depot, Target, Sears, WalMart and grocery stores such as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Publix within easy reach of your home.

There is also a wide variety of restaurants, from the small mom-and pop variety such as Capozzi's NY Pizza up to the national chain restaurants like Chili's and Houlihan's.

East Cobb has established itself in the Atlanta region as a place sought-after for its family-friendly environment. Many people who have been relocated out of East Cobb will move back, unable to find another city which meets their family's needs as well.

If you are considering a move to the East Cobb area of Atlanta, I would love to have the opportunity to show you what makes it so special.
